Histopathological Background Findings in Hanford Miniature Swine
The miniature swine are increasingly recognized as a non-rodent model for regulatory toxicity studies. For the use of the miniature swine in toxicology, it is critical to develop a central database of background or “normal” histopathological findings. In a separate presentation, we have already introduced the normal values for hematology, serum chemistry, urinalysis, and other physiological variables with considerations to age and gender. To our knowledge, the background histopathological findings for the Hanford miniature swine have not been introduced.
