Currently, we are evaluating and implementing best practices as new information regarding the novel Coronavirus come to light. Below we outline key items that we have implemented to date.
Employee safety and prevention of rapid spread is of utmost importance at this time. We have taken several measures to facilitate this goal.
- We are urging all employees to be vigilant about increased hygiene and frequent hand washing, launching education initiatives, increased oversight and additional handwashing and sanitization stations in our facilities.
- We are implementing enhanced cleaning techniques and frequency for all common areas and touch points such as door handles, railings, seats and other hard surfaces.
- We are limiting non-essential access to our site, including prospective/current customers, vendors and Sinclair’s remote employees. We have also updated our biosecurity requirements to limit access to site.
- We have adjusted our HR policies to ensure the welfare of our employees. This includes instructing employees who feel ill or have known exposure to consult their healthcare providers and stay home for the prescribed period. Sinclair has also implemented a policy offering additional sick days for employees with medical authorization for leave.
In addition to prevention measures, we are planning for other possible scenarios and using a risk assessment approach in every decision. To make sure we stay up-to-date and monitor the situation closely, we have created a COVID-19 response committee that will continually evaluate and adapt the state of processes at Sinclair as new communications are received from health experts including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), and federal and local agencies. Sinclair is in a fortuitous position in that we can segregate staff and projects teams among our many buildings on site. With this segregation we have evolving containment plans to address the possibility of a positive case and growth in cases at Sinclair.
